A Palatial Abode Suspended Over the Scenic Megève
Clinging to the mountainside atop one of the most famed Alpine resorts, Chalet Sun Arbois is revered by French high society and jet-setters alike. Its lofty setting guarantees unbridled panoramic views, naturally complementing the mountain hut aesthetic of this truly magnificent space.
The sublime architecture is easy-on-the-eye as natural stone blends with indigenous timber, the slightest suggestion of the luxury that awaits within. Guests savor the sophisticated stylings of this remarkable set-up where up to 20 guests can recline in the chalet’s genteel embrace—uplifted by the awe-inducing beauty of a singular mountain-top escape.
Chalet Sun Arbois spans four equally indulgent floors, each serviced by a fairytale glass elevator that eases the strain from ski-weary legs. Ascend to the top where a mercurial master suite awaits: private lounge, roaring fireplace, and a hidden television creating a secluded chalet experience, in-and-of itself.
Then take to the resplendent rounded bathtub for early evening’s respite, before selecting your glamorous wears from a standalone dressing room. Finally, descend from an exclusive enclave to rejoin the hordes below—for there are endless pleasures to explore in this labyrinthine palace.
The ground floor is a masterstroke of design as guests stride into an opulent reception room that leads into a glass-fronted expanse: absorb endless mountain vistas that scale the vertiginous inclines of Mont d’Arbois, pluck a select aperitif from the well-stocked bar, and recline amidst the opulence of ample soft-furnishings—the defining feature of such a relaxing setting.
As is customary in the Alps, an open fireplace provides home comfort. Aromas from the professionally-equipped kitchen arouse culinary curiosity; before appetites are thoroughly satiated by wonderfully refined cuisine. The ten-seater dining space offers peaceful environs for quieter evenings as guests lose hours sampling the chalet’s rarest vintage wines.
Two lavish en-suite bedrooms also reside on this floor: wistful slumber chambers for those who prize blissful nights of rest.
This modish mansion respects desires for comfort and relaxation in equal measure: timber-clad walls preserve the welcoming aura while a secretive cigar room offers a sublime sanctuary away from the crowd—the ingenuity of the chalet’s design self-evident as a natural rockface forms one wall. Where evenings call for formality, assemble at the 18-seater dining table and peruse the state-of-the-art wine cellar, Mont Arbois the backdrop for banquets of sheer delight.
Three wonderfully-appointed en-suites offer peaceful retreats. Or if recreation is required, seek solitude in the expansive spa room replete with infinity pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and a private hammam. A second bar promises abundant evening nightcaps, a massage room is sure to relax tired minds—no matter your whims, the mesmeric Sun Arbois satisfies all.
The bottom floor of this exemplary chalet boasts an exclusive nightclub—why should nights ever draw to a close? Gazing inwards towards the indoor infinity pool, there is ample entertainment for all hours of the day. Should inclement weather call for quieter hours, an expansive cinema offers a capacious refuge in which to relax. Alternatively, seek the grandeur of the games room and stoke competition amongst your guests.
A charming children’s bedroom hides on this floor with four single beds and a further double—perfect for family getaways, or for groups in need of space. A generous bathroom boasts three separate showers; with an additional shower, laundry room and two single beds housed in discrete staff quarters, also available for guests to rent.
Megève stands alone in its splendor, so lodgings must match up. Chalet Sun Arbois exceeds even the highest of expectations through its contemporary stylings that harmonize with more traditional mountain comforts.
If you have a sizable group to accommodate, harboring considerable ambitions for luxuriant living, there is no more apposite an alpine escape.
